I have been thinking to write about my college life from long time. The first thing that comes to my mind when I think about my stay is the hostel. First day when we were asked to shout 'GO TAPTI' I never realised how much hostel will be part of my life. Neither did I get the emotional attachment seniors had towards the hostel.
Every fresher either gets into sports activities, litt. or tech activities. Since I was not much in litt and sports I decided to take part in tech events. I began making circuits and stuff in room. One incident I can never forget is blowing away fuse in our room. Me and Rerec somehow managed to short the mains and hence blew away the fuse :D
One thing I fondly remember is the day before freshie schroeter began. We were asked to wear a workshop shirt and a towel as dhothi. We were made to march and then taught how to cheer for the hostel during sport matches and of course hooting. Though I dint get what those words mean at that time I enjoyed shouting them at other hostels trying to shout higher than them.
I still remember the day I first received my answer script of my CS110 course. That was the first time when I knew where I would stand in our class. The result though was disastrous, I felt happy that many of my friends did equally bad in the quiz. So I forgot about it very soon. I loved some classes and hated some. I was very surprised at the indifference of the profs in insti. I was not objected when I went 40 minutes late to Rajkumar's class. Poor guy!! he just looked at his watch and carried on with his lesson.
When we were in our first year, our TAS, foil as we fondly call him was very active. We used to have the tech club meetings and he used to explain several things to us. I always wondered how he could have so much enthu in tech stuff, how very little of things that we see daily life to amaze him. He was a perfectionist and gave us enough opportunity to work on things and help us all do new stuff.
First sem was really fun. Since none of us had laptops, our main pastime was playing and chatting with each other. Most of the discussions revolved around names and fundas of our batchmates, Seniors, girls, ragging and so on. I can say its one of the best years of my life.
